Raghu Gowda is an Indian YouTuber and content creator known for his YouTube channel Raghu Vine Store. He emerged as an internet sensation in lockdown after going through a lot of struggles in his career. He previously worked as a freelancer for YouTube and social media pages. He has also worked as a content creator for the Metrosaga YouTube channel.
Raghu Gowda was born in 1990 in Rajajinagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka. He got his early education by staying in Rajaji Nagar itself. His father died accidentally when he was just 10 years old. He is the only child of his parents. After Raghu’s father’s death, his mother somehow raised him, and she was also depressed about his husband’s suicide.
After the father left, the condition in the house deteriorated and Raghu continued his studies with the help of his mother. He did his high school and intermediate studies in Bengaluru, after which he did BCA from Vijaya College, Bangalore. After getting a graduation degree in Bachelor of Computer Applications, he started working in an IT company in Bangalore.
He worked in several IT companies in his life continuously for 7 years. He never wanted to enter the IT sector. Raghu always wanted to do something different in his career. But in the year 2014, his biggest shock was when his mother committed suicide by hanging herself in a closed room due to depression.
After her mother left, he was broken from the inside and he was the only person left in his house but he did not give up and continued his career with courage. He continued working in the IT sector and on 20 May 2015, Raghu married Vidya Gowda. Wanting to do something different in his life, Raghu quit his IT sector job and started working as a freelancer for YouTube channels and social media pages.
He also worked as a content creator for the Metrosaga YouTube channel. Apart from this, he was also uploading his small comedy videos on Facebook. His comedy videos on Facebook began to get the love of the public which inspired him to start his own YouTube channel named Raghu Vine Store in the year 2017 where he used to create food, bikes, and travel blogs and upload them on his channel.
In the year 2020 when the lockdown was announced across the nation and this lockdown changed Raghu’s life. His YouTube videos started going viral and he emerged as an internet sensation.
In the year 2020, he appeared in an episode of the Kannada show Comedy Darbar. In the lockdown, he Recalls the suicide moments of his mother, he shared his pain on Instagram and wrote that
“Early memories that I have with my mother was when I was three or four years that she tried to hang herself. I didn’t have an amazing childhood, they looked after me well but all my childhood memories are like this. There are flashes of fights at home, my mother talking me somewhere on a rainy day, living somewhere else and, someone else talking me somewhere”.

“One day, I come back from work, it was night time, I was tired and sleepy. My mother opens the door and she told me that she is tired too so she asked me to serve dinner for myself and sleep. I told I had already eaten and I would sleep too. Around 10 AM, she starts acting like how she would previously (For past three months). She had suicidal tendencies but that they was no different. I meanwhile go get apple juice and sat next to her until she drank and had food.
That day, she asked me to feed her and she started telling me that she wants to commit suicide and sorry for leaving me. This was getting serious and we started looking to get her professional help but also, I call my family to home that they. She asks us for 5 minutes alone time and I just wanted to check what she was doing and she had hanged herself. I see it, I take a knife to cut the knot, the knife is blunt, I don’t have nails and we are not able to to remove that knot. The desperation for death was so much that, she had tied herself with seven or eight knots”.
“First check of reality happened when cops didn’t even give a damn about the suicide when I was in front of them, crying. Even with people who would spread rumours about my mother’s death. This is one major reason I started humor because when I sought/needed shoulders, no one give a damn”.
