Shilpa Shinde is an Indian television actress who mainly works in Hindi TV serials. She is famous for her role as Angoori Bhabhi in the TV show Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai. Apart from this, she has also been the winner of Bigg Boss 11 in 2017. She was born on 28 August 1977 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She completed her early education in Mumbai.
She has also been a student of Psychology but could not complete her Bachelor’s degree. Her father wanted her to study law but she was not interested in that subject. Shinde started her acting career in the year 1999, but she came into the spotlight in 2002 with her role of Manju Chatterjee in the Star Plus serial Bhabhi. In 2001, she worked in the Telugu movie Chhina and Shivani.
In 2001, she played the lead role of Amrita in the Star Plus serial Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai. Shilpa did not look back again in her career after making her debut in the television industry.
During this time she worked in many serials like Amrapali (2002), Tum Bin Jaaoon Kahaan (2003), Hatim (2004), Sanjivani (2004), Miss India (2004), Meher (2005), Rabba Ishq Na Hove (2005), Chidiya Ghar (2011), Do Dil Ek Jaan (2013), Devon Ke Dev … Mahadev (2013) and Lapataganj (2014). In 2015, Shinde was cast in the lead role in the new TV serial Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai.
Initially, she was cast in the role of Glamorous neighbor Anita Mishra but had to play the role of an ordinary housewife Angoori Tiwari. Initially, Rashmi Desai was cast in the role of Anguri Tiwari, but she left the show for personal reasons. Shilpa was cast for Anguri Tiwari after Rashmi left the show.
