Manya Singh is the first runner-up contestant of Miss India 2020 who overtook all the contestants with her beauty and talent. It would be fine to call her a girl with beauty and with brain. She has reached here today, not losing her patience in her odd circumstances. Manya is a rickshaw driver’s girl who hails from Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh.
Manya Singh was born in the year 2001 in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. Manya has faced a lot of problems in her childhood, she suffered poverty, domestic violence, and social fabric in her childhood. Because of all this, she was left out of her childhood studies. She had to leave her studies after class 3 to class 8 due to poverty and financial problems. She tells an interview:
“I have spent numerous nights without food and sleep. I’ve spent many afternoons walking for miles on end. My blood, sweat, and tears have amalgamated into the courage to pursue my dreams. Being a rickshaw driver’s daughter, I never had the opportunity to attend school as I had to start working in my teens. All the clothes I had were hand-me-downs. I yearned for books, but luck wasn’t in my mother had to ensure that I paid my exam fees to earn a degree. My mother has suffered a lot to provide for me.”
Despite being surrounded by so many problems, Manya did not give up and decided to do something on her own. Manya said in an Interview:
“When I turned 14, I decided to run away from my home in UP and I took a train from Gorakhpur to Mumbai and arrived at Kurla Junction. Where I go to Kandivali from Kurla junction and called up her parents after two full days. When I called my father he started crying. In a broken voice, he asked me what was I doing there all alone”
She made up her mind to work to improve her financial situation. She worked in the evening at Pizza Hut outlet, where she mopped the floor, washed dishes and plates worked in the call center at night, and also slept in the storeroom. She used to walk for hours to reach her office, which saved her the fare of the rickshaw. Her two-time meal was arranged from her job and Manya continued her studies with the remaining money.
Manya was also a brilliant child in her studies, she passed her class 10 examination with a score of more than 80%. He continued his further studies, showing indomitable courage even in such odd circumstances, and became a topper in his intermediate examination, which earned him the Best Student Award in school.
After completing her intermediate studies, she continued her graduation during the third year of her graduation, she prepared for the UPSC exam. She posted her struggling days post on Instagram and tells that
“At 14, I Ran Away From Home. I Somehow Managed To Complete My Studies In The Day, Became A Dishwasher In The Evening, And Worked At A Call Center At Night. I Have Walked Hours To Reach Places So I Could Save The Rickshaw Fare.”
Manya Singh Educational Qualification:
Manya has done her studies in very odd circumstances. Her childhood education was not done due to poverty, she stayed away from school education from class 3 to class 8. Due to poverty, she has spent many nights without eating clothes and food, and fed up with poverty, Manya left her home at the age of 14 and moved to Mumbai.
Along with working in Mumbai, she continued her education, she used to study in her school during the day, and in the evening she would work at Pizza Hut to get utensils. For work, she used to walk for an hour and a half to save their auto rent and to get some savings of money. Manya completed her high school examination from S.M. Lohia High School Mumbai, saying she passed her high school examination with 80 percent marks.
After this, Manya won the title of Best Student Award from S.M. Lohia School Mumbai in her Class XII examination with good numbers. After passing the intermediate examination, Manya continued her studies and took admission to Thakur College of Science and Commerce in Mumbai. From this college, she completed her graduation in banking and insurance management courses. Her Mother sells her jewelry to ensure her degree and pay all the fees of college.
At such a young age, she became the runner-up of Miss India 2020 on the strength of her hard work. When she was in her last year of college, she was attracted to modeling but had no money to learn to model or take any modeling course, she was paying her expenses and college fees in some way by doing a job. But she did not give up, followed the female models on YouTube, and tried to learn the catwalk from there.
Manya auditioned several times in a Campus Princess beauty pageant but could not pass the first round in more than 10 auditions. But Manya did not give up, applied to many fashion shows, and walked on the ramp at Times Fashion Week and Lakme Fashion Week fashion shows. After this, she collaborated with Sephora and Staunch India to promote her beauty products through her Instagram page.
After this Manya was featured as a model in some commercial ads and also worked for Ahilya Fine Silver Jewels. She later got a chance to represent Uttar Pradesh at the VLCC Femina Miss India 2020, where she won the title of Miss India Runner-Up, surpassing other competitors from 14 states.
In 2022, she made her debut in the entertainment industry on Colors TV’s most controversial show Bigg Boss 16. She participated in Bigg Boss 16 as a contestant.
