Namrata Shirodkar is a former Indian film actress and model who is famous for her acting in Hindi films. She was born on 22 January 1972 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She was interested in acting since childhood due to her elder sister Shilpa Shirodkar and grandmother Meenakshi Shirodkar being associated with films.
After completing her early studies in Mumbai, she joined Shatrughan Sinha’s starrer film Shirdi Ke Sai Baba as a child artist in 1977. She was also very famous for her beauty, so she won the title of Miss India in 1993 while modeling. She also represented India at Miss Universe where she finished sixth. In the same year, she also represented India in the Miss Asia Pacific contest where she was the first runner-up.
After her immense success in the beauty contest, she started getting offers of acting in films, accepting which she made her debut in films with a small role in the Bollywood film Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai. After debuting, she worked in many Hindi movies one after the other. Her first big hit was Kachche Dhaage which was released in 1999.
