Raghav Chadha is a politician from Aam Aadmi Party who was born on 11 November 1988 in Delhi. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Delhi University and a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Delhi. After that, he did an MBA from the London School of Economics, London. In the early days of his career, he worked as a chartered accountant in accountancy firms like Shyam Malpani, Grant Thornton, and Deloitte.
Raghav joined the India Against Corruption movement in 2011 at the age of 23. Raghav’s journey began at the age of 23 by working with grassroots teams, field experts, and academics for the movement and compiling and drafting their findings. Later this draft became the manifesto of the Aam Aadmi Party for the Delhi Assembly elections. He was involved in drafting the budget of the Delhi government.
Worked for some time as a consultant and with the Ministry of Finance. When AAP won the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections with a majority, Chadha, at the age of 26, was appointed AAP’s national treasurer. In 2019, he tried his luck for the first time in the Lok Sabha elections from South Delhi seat. However, Raghav lost the election to BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri by a wide margin.
In February 2020, Raghav contested the Delhi Assembly elections from the Rajendra Nagar seat. This time he won against BJP candidate RP Singh. After the elections, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of Delhi Jal Board and given the Water Department in the Government of Delhi. In March 2022, AAP nominated Delhi MLA Raghav Chadha along with four others as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections from Punjab.
He was elected unopposed to the Upper House of Parliament. By resigning as Delhi MLA, the AAP leader became the youngest Rajya Sabha MP at the age of 33. He was also appointed as a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance in the Rajya Sabha. Meanwhile, he was awarded the Most Stylish Politician by India Fashion Awards.
